Are chiropractic adjustments safe? Will it hurt?
Chiropractic care is very safe when done by a licensed professional like Dr. Stef.
Adjustments are gentle and specific and they typically do not hurt. At times, it may feel uncomfortable if muscles are stiff and tight.*
*Everybody is different, and what may be comfortable for some, may not be comfortable for others so please be honest with Dr. Stef about how you are feeling
Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?
No need for a referral. You can schedule directly with Dr. Stef through here.
Will I get X-rays taken?
Dr. Stef will not x-ray you unless it is indicated. If she recommends further imaging, she will refer you to her trusted source.
Do babies also get “cracked” like adults?
No! Dr. Stef uses a very gentle approach to adjusting newborns, infants and toddlers. She uses the same amount of pressure that it takes to test the ripeness of an avocado or tomato when treating your young child. There are no “cracking” or “popping” sounds with infant, newborn or toddler adjustments.
What is the investment?
Your New Patient Exam visit is $175. (follow us on socials to keep up with any active promotions we have going on)
Care plan pricing is dependent on the length of treatment recommended & types of treatment. We will go over the complete investment of your care plan at the end of your New Patient Exam visit
Firefly Chiropractic offers a variety of ways to split up care plan payments (pay in full, monthly installments, pay per visit) to make sure you get the care you need.
Can I use my insurance?
Firefly Chiropractic is an out of network provider. This means that all services must be paid for at the time of your appointment and no insurances are accepted.
We do this purposely. We’ve found that working with insurances is not in the best interest of our patients because it is restricting on the type & amount of care you can receive. We’ve also found that our cash rate of $65 per treatment is lower than most insurance co-pays.
If you’d like to utilize your insurance benefits, make sure to ask Dr. Stef about a Super-bill.
A Super-bill is a detailed receipt with all the information necessary for you to submit to your insurance and possibly get reimbursed directly for the care you received.*
*Firefly Chiropractic does not guarantee that your insurance will reimburse you even if you submit a Super-bill.
I’ve heard that once you start going to the chiropractor, you have to go forever. Is that true?
Just like filling up your car’s gas tank. You can’t do it once and expect to never do it again. Depending on the car & the amount of driving you’re doing, you may have to fill your tank a few times a week or you may be able get away with only filling it once a month.
Dr. Stef strongly believes that the best benefits of chiropractic care are truly felt when you are on a consistent wellness routine.
However, wellness looks different for everyone. It may range anywhere from 1x a week, 2x a month, or 1x a month – just depends on the person! Dr. Stef will give you her recommendations, but you ultimately have the final say!
Initial Visit FAQs
What does the Initial Visit consist of at Firefly Chiropractic?
Expect your Initial Visit to last between 45-60 minutes.
During your appointment, Dr. Stef will start by going over your intake paperwork with you and may ask you questions regarding the condition for which you are seeking care.
After this, she will proceed to the exam portion in which she will perform a posture screen & range of motion screen. She will also run you through a series of neurological & orthopedic exams relevant to your area of concern.
As long as there are no red flags or contraindications to care, Dr. Stef will give you your first treatment! The treatment consists of a chiropractic adjustment plus complementary soft tissue work – both of which she will explain in more detail when you come in for your appointment.
After you’ve received your first treatment, Dr. Stef will give you her expert recommendations and go over financials with you. At this point you will schedule future visits with Dr. Stef to continue your healing journey!
How do you check my posture and range of motion?
We utilize the app PostureScreen. This app is able to take digital images & movements and give objective data relevant to the way your body moves & functions.
What is the cost of the Initial Visit?
The cost of an Initial Visit at Firefly Chiropractic is $175.
